Brown, dirty water is often caused by tannins which are the result of water sitting in decaying vegetation and leaves. This is common with surface water like river water but can also be found in other water sources such as rainwater. Tannins will give your water a bitter taste and have an unpleasant odour, while the tea-coloured water will often leave stains on items like spas, sinks, and toilet bowls. Not something you would want, nor a guest to experience.
TAN40-E1
River & Surface Water - High Tannin Levels
The TAN40-E1 system has been developed to address high tannin levels and can handle high water volumes, making it an ideal solution for those with river and surface water supplies.
The Tannimax resin removes tannin through the use of a selective ion exchange and absorption process while the E1-matic valve will automatically regenerate the resin. The system requires very little maintenance, only replenishing the salt as required for regeneration, and the resin media lasting approx 5-6 years. The regeneration frequency is dependent on the tannin levels and the amount of water used.
It is recommended to install a sediment filter system prior to the TAN40-E1 to protect the resin.
TR20MP2
Rainwater - Low Tannin Levels
Like the TAN40-E1 the TR20MP2 cartridge removes tannin through the use of selective ion exchange resin.
The TR Series cartridge is specifically designed to reduce tannin/organics only, so it is best used in conjunction with a two or three stage filtration system such as the HYBRID-G13. It is recommended to have sediment pre-filtration to avoid premature blocking of the TR Series cartridge, and carbon post-filtration to further reduce taste & odour.
The TR Series cartridge will need to be regenerated prior to use, and whenever the colour in the water starts to return and is suited to low level tannin issues in rainwater.
HYBRID-G13
The Hybrid G13 is the ideal system to use in conjunction with a TR Series cartridge. The system provides the sediment pre- filtration & carbon post-filtration required for the cartridge. The final stage of the system is the RadfireTM UV steriliser, killing 99.9% of bacteria and ensures your water is safe to drink at every tap.
